NY Man Arrested For Fleeing Police
WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (AP) -- A Long Island man has been arrested and charged with fleeing from police and crashing into a police cruiser.
Suffolk County police said Robert Wilcox of Copiague was driving on Route 109 in West Babylon early Monday morning when police tried to pull him over for a traffic violation.
Police said Wilcox fled and crashed into a police vehicle. They say he continued driving before abandoning his car and fleeing on foot.
Police arrested him a short time later and charged him with criminal mischief, unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and reckless driving.
He was scheduled to be arraigned later Monday.
