NY Lottery Backs Bid For Queens 'Racino'
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- The Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens is one step closer to becoming a "racino."
The State Lottery Division was recommending that a company in Malaysia build and operate more than 4,500 video slot machines at the track.
Genting New York was the only bidder left after two others were disqualified.
The company offered an upfront fee of $380 million.
The governor and the state legislature must still approve the choice.
