NY Army National Guard To Be Honored In Pregame Ceremony
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Jets will head North to Buffalo for a divisional game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, and prior to the game more than 150 New York Army National Guard soldiers will be honored by players, coaches, fans and politicians.
National Guard Soldiers will unfurl a giant American flag across the field during the opening ceremony when the Bills host the Jets on Sunday. The soldiers will reaffirm their oath during a halftime ceremony.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo notes that guard members have served not only in Afghanistan and Iraq, but they have also aided New Yorkers in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy and flooding in the Mohawk Valley.
