WCBS 880's Irene Cornell on the involvement of Alan Dershowitz
Harvard law professor and celebrity defense lawyer Alan Dershowitz argued the conviction of Dr. Mazoltuv Borukhova was unfair for several reasons. Among other things, he says the judge who heard the case was more concerned with his upcoming vacation than he was about the trial.
Borukhova was serving life in prison without parole. She was convicted of hiring her cousin to gun down orthodontist Daniel Malakov. He died in 2007 in a Queens park, in front of their 4-year-old daughter.
Dershowitz's clients have included Patricia Hearst, Leona Helmsley and O.J. Simpson.
