Nova Activated, But Garcia Starts For Yankees On Sunday
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Ivan Nova was activated from the disabled list on Saturday and will be available to pitch for the Yankees out of the bullpen this weekend.
Nova was placed on the disabled list on August 23 with inflammation in his right rotator cuff. His numbers have taken a step back in 2012. Nova is 11-7 with a 4.92 ERA in 157 1/3 innings for the Yankees this season.
Freddy Garcia will retain his place in the Yankees' rotation on Sunday. WFAN's Sweeny Murti tweeted the following on Saturday: "Nova activated from DL. In bullpen for now. Garcia starts tomorrow as planned."
No date has been announced for Nova's return to the rotation.
The Yankees' bullpen has struggled against Oriole bats in the opening two games of their four-game series at Camden Yards.
Can Nova's eventual return to the rotation be a boost for the Yankees? Let us know...
