North Shore Animal League Rescues Pets Left Homeless By Southern Tornadoes
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Nearly 80 animals left homeless after tornadoes struck the south are coming to Long Island today.
A rescue team from the North Shore Animal League is bringing the dogs, puppies, and kittens back from Birmingham, Alabama.
Much of Alabama was ravaged by tornadoes late last month.
Many pets were abandoned or lost, and local shelters have been inundated with animals being given up by families who lost their homes.
