Most people bag leaves, polluting the environment says town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman.
But now the town is offering biodegradable bags that disintegrate in about a year.
"Anyone who lives in the town of North Hempstead can call 311 and get these bags delivered to them for about 50 cents a piece," said Kaiman.
Anyone who does not live in the town can go on the town's website and order the bags.
