North Bellmore Couple Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are investigating a tragic murder-suicide on Long Island.
Investigators believe a man killed his wife and then himself inside their North Bellmore home Tuesday afternoon, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported.
Detectives said the bodies were discovered inside the Smith Avenue residence after the couple's oldest child came home from school to find the door locked.

Through a screen door, the father told him to go get his siblings and when the children -- ages 7, 9, 10 and 13 -- returned they found a note on the door, saying "Mom and dad are hurt, please call 911," CBS 2's Carolyn Gusoff reported.
The children called police and when officers arrived, they made the awful discovery -- the mother was dead in the kitchen and the father was dead upstairs, WCBS 880's Hall reported.
"We have gone to their block party all the time. It goes to show you that you don't know what goes on behind other people's doors," one neighbor told Hall.
I've driven by this block many times," North Bellmore resident Sarah Cole told CBS 2's Gusoff. "I always see maybe two, three little kids running around and they seemed very happy."
