No Winner In Powerball Drawing; $350 Million Up For Grabs On Wednesday
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - There were no winners in Saturday night's Powerball drawing.
The jackpot is on record to be the third largest Powerball in history, with another drawing for an estimated $350 million jackpot set for Wednesday.
As CBS 2's Janelle Burrell reported, people were out Sunday morning buying tickets to try to cash in.
"You only live once and $350 million. I could tell you a lot you could do with that," Sekou Faye from the Upper West Side told Burrell.
People in the Tri-State area hope that the Powerball winnings return to our region.
"I really want it. Give me the money, I want the cheese," Lorenzo Bailey of Flatbush told Burrell.
Back in March, New Jersey's Pedro Quezada had a $338 million pay day.
He opted for $152 million in a lump sum payout.
Some tourists in Times Square said that's more money than they'd know what to do with.
"Too much temptation with that much money. Wouldn't know what to do with it," Dave Whiteside told Burrell.
"I'd moved to Manhattan," Jim Nuttall from Toronto said. "My wife is never gonna see this."
Faye said the jackpot is so big, it'd be more than a Mother's Day gift if he won.
"It could be a good everybody in the family day gift!"
There were some smaller prize winners in Saturday night's drawing. Some ticketholders won as much as $26 million, Burrell reported.
Saturday's winning numbers were: 06, 13, 19, 23, 43, and Powerball 16
