NJ TRANSIT's Bad Week Continues Trend Of Delays, Malfunctions
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - New Jersey TRANSIT had a bad week last week, with extensive delays taking place on both Monday and Tuesday.
And that bad week is a representation of the funk that the public transportation company has been in for some time now.
Take Lenny, a commuter who spends over $100 a week riding the Northeast Corridor line into Penn Station for work. Lenny claims that he's often late, which causes him to get hollered regularly by his boss.

"The train has broken down, it gets stuck in the tunnel or it will be bumper to bumper," Lenny said.
The Wall Street Journal says that last week's major backups were caused by broken signals and sagging power lines.
Not all NJ Transit commuters are displeased with their daily trek on the aging rail lines, however.
"I've had no experiences like that," Mike from Trenton said. "No problems, no complaints."
Commuters might be able to accept the delays more easily if prices were more manageable, as NJ Transit instituted a 22 percent fare hike in 2010.
