Normal Service Resumes On NJ Transit Trains Following Fatality On The Tracks
SHORT HILLS, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Normal service has resumed after NJ Transit train struck and killed a woman on the tracks at the Short Hills station.
NJ Transit spokeswoman Penny Bassett Hackett said Train 6600 had left Dover station at 4:30 a.m. with about 70 passengers aboard when it struck the person around 5 a.m.
The NJ Transit website characterizes the person who got struck as a "trespasser."

The passengers were transferred to another train.
There were delays of up to an hour on the Morris & Essex Line between Dover and Hoboken and Dover and New York's Penn Station during the height of rush hour, but normal service resumed later.
The death remained under investigation.
