NJ Transit Officials Calling This Weekend The Busiest In The Agency's History
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - There are two major concerts in New Jersey this weekend, and Game 3 of the NHL Eastern Conference Finals between the Devils and the Rangers took place at the Prudential Center on Saturday afternoon.
So, of course, this is the perfect weekend to start a big road-construction project that will snarl NJ Transit bus routes.
Nope, it's not a joke.
Starting on Saturday, one of the two eastbound lanes on South Marginal Street in Weehawken will close for repairs, meaning that there will be a significant reduction in traffic capacity along the roadway next to Route 495 near the Lincoln Tunnel.
Many NJ Transit buses will be delayed, and it could also affect people waiting at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in midtown.
NJ Transit officials are calling this weekend the busiest in the history of the agency, with organizers of the Bamboozle Music Festival in Asbury Park and the Electric Daisy Carnival at MetLife Stadium both urging people to take mass transit.
Will you face the music this weekend and take mass transit, or will you take the safer route and commute by car? Offer your thoughts and comments below...
