Jim Weinstein got an earful from Robin Whitney of Asbury Park, whose weekend train to Hoboken was cancelled.

"The last person said to me, they looked me straight in the eye and said, 'That service is never coming back. So you're living a fantasy lady. Get out of our face.'," Whitney said.

"It's good to hear what people have to say, even if it is not nice, and usually when it is not nice, it's deserved," Weinstein told WCBS 880 reporter Marla Diamond.

"Just let us know what's going on. Let your conductors know because we sit outside Hoboken for 5 to 7 minutes, and that means we've missed our connection," said Francie Starnes of Glen Ridge.

As for the week's delays, Weinstein said, "The vice president of our railroad is convinced that somehow there's a conspiracy between when we do the survey and when we have service disruptions. But I've told him that that's not the case."

Feedback in the station and from riders online is an important part of NJT's quarterly survey, letting the agency know where to allocate dollars and manpower.
