NJ TRANSIT Could Begin Testing Gladstone Branch On Friday
TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - In the month since superstorm Sandy, NJ TRANSIT has restored at least some service to all of its train lines, except the Gladstone Branch.

Spokesman John Durso says repairs are finishing up on the hard-hit line.
"Repairs have been going on around the clock now for some time and we are nearing the end of the process," he said.
Five poles holding overhead wires snapped.
"It required approximately 90-foot poles to be specially manufactured and brought up into the area to be installed," Durso told WCBS 880's Jim Smith.
He says rails and switches were taken out by nearly 50 trees.
Testing of the line could start Friday, when the more than 3,000 daily raiders could learn when service will resume.
"It will be a milestone," Durso said. "Once the Gladstone Branch is operational, all NJ TRANSIT rail services will be back, either in a limited or a full capacity."
The Gladstone branch serves towns in Somerset County including Far Hills, Basking Ridge and Bernardsville.
