NJ TRANSIT Announces 'Super Pass' For Super Bowl
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- New Jersey Transit is offering a special pass to ease travel for the first Super Bowl to be played outdoors in a cold-weather locale.
Super Pass will cost $50 and is valid for unlimited travel on all NJ TRANSIT trains, buses and light rail, including trips to and from Newark Liberty International Airport and New York City, between Jan. 27 and Feb. 3.
Organizers are calling February's Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium the first "public transportation'' Super Bowl. They're hoping fans with tickets and those who travel to the area just to take part in the Super Bowl buzz will use trains and buses instead of driving.

"Some two-thirds or so of the people need to get there by bus and by train," said Al Kelly of the Super Bowl Host Committee.
More than 400,000 visitors are expected to the region for game-related events, and about 80,000 will attend the game on Sunday, Feb. 2, NJ TRANSIT said in a statement.
Parking at the game will be at a premium, with fewer than 13,000 spaces at MetLife Stadium available by permit only, according to NJ TRANSIT.
As WCBS 880's Monica Miller reported, Giants co-owner Jonathan Tisch said getting tens of thousands of fans in place in time for the 6:32 p.m. kickoff will be a challenge.
"Some 80,000 people will be able to enjoy the game in person," he said, while noting that "there are only 14,000, 13,000 parking spaces."
Jets owner Woody Johnson has placed his bets on public transit to Secaucus Junction, a transfer station to the stadium.
"We took the 10:03 this morning out of Penn Station, got here in 8 minutes," said Johnson.
Strict limitations will be placed on passenger drop-offs. Taxis and black cars will not be allowed to conduct passenger drop-offs at the Stadium. All taxi and car services will be required to purchase a permit in order to gain access, and will need to remain onsite all day and wait for passengers in a secure lot.
It is estimated that approximately 70 percent of those going to the game will need to arrive by mass transportation and high occupancy vehicles, NJ TRANSIT said.
Resources will be enhanced on game day, including a coach bus service option offered by the Host Committee called the "Fan Express."
"That will feature direct express service from nine locations in New York City and New Jersey," said Al Kelly of the Host Committee. "There, in fact, will be an express lane through the Lincoln Tunnel to facilitate the movement of these Fan Express coach buses."
Transit agencies will also offer extended rail service and expedited access on major roadways.
