Watch & Listen: Gov. Christie Talks Sandy, Sanchez, Jets, Mets On B&C

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- There was an extra-special edition of the "Boomer and Carton in the Morning" show Monday.

With co-host Boomer Esiason on vacation, co-host Craig Carton was joined in the Allstate Studio by none other than New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

Christie, a frequent caller to the "Boomer & Carton" program, talked sports and took calls from 6-10 a.m.

This wasn't the governor's first time hosting alongside Carton. Known on the show as caller "Chris from Mendham," Christie previously hosted the show on Friday, May 6, 2011.

The two put on a terrific show that day, and they managed to top their first performance Monday. The governor was a natural behind the microphone (like that came as a surprise), and his rapport with Carton made for some very entertaining radio.

Below you can enjoy all of the audio and video from what was a memorable program!

Gov. Christie on Mark Sanchez: "It seems like the fans have amnesia about this guy, Yeah, he was awful last year, but by the way, he had no weapons last year to throw to, he had no receiving core, he had no running game and the offensive line was below average. So what are you looking for from the guy? I think they've treated him awfully. It seems like they're determined ... and I think this new general manager (John Idzik) is just determined to play the guy that he drafted (Geno Smith)."

NJ Governor Christie In For Booms, Rex Gets All 'Rex'ed Up' Saturday Night

Gov. Christie on superstorm Sandy being life-changing: "No doubt. And it was very emotional. There were a number of times when tears were shed, meeting some of these folks whose lives were completely destroyed, who really just wanted you to help. And you couldn't come home at night after 16, 18-hour days in the immediate aftermath of the storm and not just ... I'd retell the stories to (wife) Mary Pat, and just, you couldn't help but be emotional."

Gov. Christie on the Jets and Giants being "from" New York: "It bothers me that these teams are still called New York teams. They train in New Jersey, both of their facilities are in New Jersey on New Jersey property. They play in New Jersey every Sunday. There's nothing about New York with either one of these football teams ... When a baseball team moves, should they still be called the old city's name?"

The Governor Is A Mets Fan For Life

Gov. Christie on Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium: "What's the problem? They play in snow all the time. What's the problem? Listen, I've already got the plows fired up. They're good to go, they're ready to go. Let me tell you, nobody is going to be slipping on ice and not being able to get to the stadium. We're from New Jersey! It snows all the time. What's the problem? (A) blinding snowstorm is what I'd like. I'd like a blinding snowstorm during the game. It would be amazing."

'Reunited And It Feels So Good'

Gov. Christie on Rex Ryan's press conference from Saturday night: "As somebody who stands in front of the press asking you questions, what's he supposed to say at that point? He tried to defend the decision, and people keep yelling at him, so he had enough of the BS. He's like, 'Enough, I've given you my answer.' There comes a point, Craig, sometimes, with you people in the media, where you just have to say, 'Hey, that's my answer. You think it's stupid, you don't like it, then say that. But leave me alone.'"

Reaction from gubernatorial foe: Democatic state Sen. Barbara Buono, who is looking to unseat Christie, told 1010 WINS' Steve Sandberg that the radio appearance is a sign that he's not taking his job seriously and is more focused on the 2016 presidential election than he is on the race for governor.

"I would love to hear to hear the governor do a little straight talk on talking into the microphone and tell the people of New Jersey, tell the 400,000 who are out of work that everything's just fine and tell them what an incredible job he's done," Buono said.
