NJ Blue Spruce Selected As White House Christmas Tree
WHITE TOWNSHIP (CBSNewYork) -- A tree from New Jersey will be decking the halls this holiday season in Washington D.C.
An 8-foot Blue Spruce from Wyckoff's Christmas Tree Farm in White Township has been selected as the official Christmas tree of the White House.
"This is spectacular because this is the first time any Christmas tree farm in the state of New Jersey has come home with this honor," said owner John Wyckoff.

The tree, which will stand in the Blue Room of the White House, won the honor after being named Tree of the Year by the National Christmas Tree Association on Aug. 10.
"This honor for the Wyckoff family means the nation will see firsthand the quality of Christmas trees grown in New Jersey," Secretary of Agriculture Douglas Fisher said in a statement. "We congratulate the Wyckoffs on continuing a great tradition of outstanding agricultural products from the Garden State."
The Wyckoff family has owned its 172-acre farm since 1839. They grow Fraser, Douglas, Concolor, and Canaan Firs, Norway, Blue and Serbian Spruces and White Pine.
