Nicks Practices For Second Straight Day, Has A Good Chance Of Playing On Sunday
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks has practiced for the second straight day, and there is a chance he will play on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers in a rematch of the NFC title game.
The Giants listed Nicks as questionable in their injury report on Friday, but teammates seemed to indicate that his chances of playing were better than 50-50.
Nicks has not played since the second week of the season, when he was sidelined with soreness in the right foot that he broke in the offseason, and swelling in his left knee. He returned to practice on Thursday for the first time in two weeks.
Coach Tom Coughlin said that Nicks' status will be better determined on Saturday, when doctors see whether practicing aggravated either his foot or knee.
In two games played this season, the fourth-year player has caught 14 balls for 237 yards and a touchdown.
What a tremendous boost Nicks would give to this already stellar offense. Offer your thoughts and comments in the section below...
