Newsday Delivery Truck Driver Hurt In Hit-And-Run Crash; Brothers Arrested
BLUE POINT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Two brothers have been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left a newspaper delivery truck driver seriously injured.
Police said 46-year-old Douglas Piekarski was rushed to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center after a Chevrolet Malibu struck his Newsday delivery truck causing it to overturn on Montauk Highway in Blue Point on March 4.
Anthony Dambrosio, 31, of Patchogue, has been arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with serious injuries.
His brother, 42-year-old Michael Dambrosio, of Medford, was charged with tampering with physical evidence and hindering prosecution.
