1 Killed, 1 Wounded In Police-Involved Shooting In Newark, N.J.
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- One man was killed and another critically hurt in a police-involved shooting in Newark, New Jersey, according to the Essex County prosecutor's office.
Newark police responded to a report of shots fired near Alexander Street and 18th Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray said two men were shot -- one was killed, one was taken to University Hospital in critical but stable condition.
Their names have not been released.
Late Tuesday night, it was not clear who shot whom.
The Prosecutor's office is investigating, which is standard procedure for any police shooting.
