Sources: 7-Year-Old's Death Appears Suspicious In Newark
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - Homicide investigators are looking into the death of a boy found at a residence in Newark.
Authorities were called around 8:30 a.m. Monday to reports of a sick or injured person at a home on Weequahic Avenue. There police found seven-year-old Ayden Brown unresponsive, who was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
Sources tell CBS2 the child's death appears to be suspicious and remains under investigation. Officials said the medical examiner's office will need to determine the cause of death for Brown.
Family members said the boyfriend of the child's mother left the scene as soon as the ambulance arrived.
