WATCH: Decker's Son Mistakes WFAN Microphone For Ice Cream Cone
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Eric Decker's infant son sure likes the mic — especially how it tastes.
The New York Jets wide receiver held 11-month-old Eric II as he started speaking to reporters after training camp practice Sunday — and the lil' guy quickly noticed all the microphones around him.
"How'd you think Daddy did today?" asked a reporter.
"He's speechless," a smiling Decker said of his son, who then started grabbing at one of the microphones. Decker took the mic from Eric II's hands and held it himself — in front of his son.
"He's going to be a singer," said Decker, whose wife Jessie is a country music artist.
That's when Eric II leaned forward and took a chomp out of the microphone as if it were an ice cream cone.
The reporter took the mic back as everyone chuckled, and the interview continued.
But then, Eric II spotted the same microphone, grabbed it and chomped on it again, this time getting a little bit of the foam covering in his mouth. As the little Decker flashed a huge smile, reporters noticed that he had the foam in his mouth and his Dad quickly cleared it.
Eric II wasn't done, though.
He kept reaching for the microphones in front of him, looking for another tasty treat, before Decker handed his son off to a media relations staffer and finished speaking to reporters.
