NY Fans Pick Sides And Party Hard For Super Bowl XLV
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- While fans in Pittsburgh, Green Bay and those attending the game in Dallas were heavily invested in the action on the field, the Super Bowl is just another reason to throw a party for many New Yorkers.
Before the game, some were hitting the Fairway Market in Harlem to do some last minute shopping. Glenn Schuck of 1010 WINS caught up with one man who said he had picked up the essentials: "cheese, nachos, beer."

Larry from the Upper West Side also stocked up for his Super Bowl party. He said his menu would feature sandwiches, wings, beer and canoli for dessert.
When asked if there was a natural tendency to try and eat everything at once, he said it really depended on the flow of the game.
"If the game is kind of slow, you eat a little more, but as the game gets heated up, then I think you pace yourself a little better," he said.
On Long Island WCBS 880's Mike Xirinachs spoke with some fans who said this game was more about rooting against a team than for one.

Plenty of Jets fans said they were throwing their support behind the Green Bay Packers, including dejected Jets fan Timothy.
"I don't want to see Pittsburgh win because they beat the Jets," he said.
But for Al, a Giants fan, the choice was an easy one. He was hoping for a Steelers victory.
"I don't like those cheese people," he said.
No matter who wins the game, New Yorkers agreed the Super Bowl is a great opportunity to just enjoy food, friends and the commercials.
