New York City Teacher's Union Leader Voices Support For President Obama At DNC
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CBSNewYork) - On this Labor Day, some labor union leaders are in Charlotte, North Carolina ahead of the start of the Democratic National Convention.

United Federation of Teachers president Michael Mulgrew said after watching the Republican convention last week he's more motivated to help re-elect President Obama.
The union represents New York City teachers.
"That's the choice here. People want to create jobs that are not good jobs versus jobs that are good jobs where people can stay in, and that's organized labor," Mulgrew told WCBS 880's Peter Haskell.
"Anything that is needed, we're going to do it," Mulgrew added.
Mulgrew said he understands it is easy to blame the President for the tough economy.
"This president was left a mess when he came into office," Mulgrew told Haskell.
Other Democratic supporters in Charlotte also said President Obama is the right leader to help the economy continue to grow.
"We've had more private job creation in the last several months than we had during the entire Bush presidency," Maryland delegate John Olszwski told CBS 2's Randall Pinkston.
The unions already have plans to work in the swing states.
"We're going to be phone-banking into all other states, we're going to be sending our buses out, we're going to be hitting Pennsylvania. Our retirees in Florida are moving, we got folks on the ground in Ohio and we'll be sending folks to Wisconsin," Mulgrew told Haskell.
The DNC runs from Tuesday to Thursday in Charlotte.
