New York Bound Holland Tunnel To Shut For Emergency Response Drill
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- An annual emergency response drill will cause closures on the New York bound side of the Holland Tunnel on Sunday morning.
The drill is scheduled to take place from midnight until 6 a.m. on Sunday when officials will light a car on fire to test the tunnel's ventilation.
During that time emergency response teams will handle a staged emergency situation, Port Authority officials said.
Signs will be in place to divert traffic and motorists have been advised to use the Lincoln Tunnel when driving into the city.
Nearby streets will remain open and the New Jersey bound tube will not be affected.
