New Rochelle To Host Rally For Super Bowl Champ Ray Rice
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - Westchester native and Super Bowl XLVII champion Ray Rice will be honored in his hometown this weekend.
A rally will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 10:30 AM on the front steps of New Rochelle City Hall on North Avenue, city officials announced Tuesday.
In addition to his Westchester ties, the Baltimore Ravens running back also played college football at Rutgers.
"So many residents of New Rochelle are eager to demonstrate their admiration for Ray's accomplishments. This community rally will be an opportunity for all of us to offer our congratulations to our hometown hero," said Mayor Noam Bramson.

Fans are encouraged to wear purple for the rally as Rice is welcomed back home.
The Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers, 34-31 in Sunday's big game on CBS.
A victory parade was held Tuesday at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium.
