New Memorial Unveiled On Long Island Honoring Victims Of 9/11-Related Illnesses
OYSTER BAY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – A new 9/11 memorial was unveiled Thursday on Long Island.
The town of Oyster Bay added the "9/11 Walls of Honor" to its Sept. 11 memorial.
The new addition honors those who have died due to 9/11-related illnesses since the 2001 terror attacks.
Family and friends of victims were on hand for the reading of the names. Later, some placed flowers on the wall during a solemn ceremony.
Town officials say it will add names of additional victims, as needed.
