New Jersey Motorists Still Smiling At The Pumps As Gas Prices Continue To Fall
TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) - Motorists in New Jersey are still smiling when they fill up as they continue to see sharply lower gas prices.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the state on Friday was $1.94, down 9 cents from last week. That's also much lower than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.25.
The national average price on Friday was $2.04, down 4 cents from last week. That's also much lower than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.29.
Analysts say the lower prices are mainly due to falling crude oil prices.
