WCBS 880's Peter Haskell with Samir Elbassiouny
Elbassiouny might have a different perspective on the subject than most. He was born in Egypt and is now the mayor of Washington Township in Warren County, New Jersey.
"To me, that feeling that I have that I am part of democracy, I want those people to feel the same way," he told WCBS 880 reporter Peter Haskell.
Looking at what's happening there now, Elbassiouny thinks it's time for President Hosni Mubarak to go.
Elbassiouny says, "I felt thought he lost touch with the people."
The now 42-year-old started at Parsippany High School without knowing a word of English.
