New Jersey Holds Late Halloween; Some Kids Less Than Thrilled
RED BANK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- New York metro area residents had other issues on their minds when Halloween came and went last week, but in New Jersey, some families were out trick-or-treating Monday night – albeit five days later than usual.
But as 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten reported, some kids and parents weren't particularly enthused about it all. One little girl who dressed up as a little princess for Halloween said many stores had seemingly canceled Halloween altogether.

Still, some parents, such as a mother named "Cori," took it all in stride. She was out with two kids – one dressed as a Power Ranger, the other as a ninja.
"They've been having a blast so it's been fun," she said. "I know it was a last-minute thing for us and for business owners, but there's something really fun about it."
For "Maria," the delayed Halloween was a blessing, because it gave her and her four children an excuse to get out of their house – which as of Monday was still without power.
"I'm feeling all right, you know, today is trick-or-treating for the kids, and they feel so happy," she said.
Governor Chris Christie announced last week that Halloween activities could not be held as scheduled for Wednesday – two days after Superstorm Sandy hit – for safety reasons.
