New Jersey-Bound Holland Tunnel To Close For Repairs
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Weekend repairs will close the outbound Holland Tunnel during the overnight hours.
The New Jersey-bound lanes will be shut down from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday so workers can repave the roadway.
Drivers are being advised to take the Lincoln Tunnel.
Similar work took place last week on the Manhattan-bound lanes.
The Port Authority says "retexturing'' is primarily done to improve the skid resistance on the tunnel's road surface. Workers will also clean grease and oil residue to make the roadway safer.
