New Documentary On NJ Corruption Hits Theatres
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - Gov. Chris Christie is a hero, but few others are in a documentary about New Jersey that hits theaters tonight.
LISTEN: WCBS 880's Wayne Cabot reports
It's called "The Soprano State: New Jersey's Culture of Corruption" and is based on the book by Statehouse reporter Bob Ingle.
"All states have political crooks, but I've never seen anything as blatant as it is in New Jersey," Ingle told WCBS 880's Wayne Cabot. "It's right up there in your face."
Ingle says corruption is part of the state's DNA and wonders why people tolerate it.
Christie was the first to see this movie at the Ziegfeld Theatre in Manhattan earlier this week.
The film will be playing in Morristown, Tenafly, Montclair, Red Bank, Hoboken, and Flemington. It will also be playing in New York in Manhasset, White Plains, and at two cinemas in New York City.
