Neiman Marcus will be opening its doors at the Roosevelt Field mall.
The mall's Richard Sokolov said this will bring needed jobs to the area.
"We expect that there will be about 2,800 construction jobs, all the additional jobs that are going to be created on a longer term basis," he told WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall.
Those include managers and sales associates.
"[It's] going to be a very significant boost to the economy. Roosevelt Field today pays almost $110 million a year in annual tax revenues," said Sokolov.
According to Simon Malls, Roosevelt Field is the sixth largest retail shopping mall in the United States.
The store is set to open in 2015 as part of a major mall expansion. A 100,000-square-foot building will be constructed to house the new store.
"The expansion of Roosevelt Field Mall is great news for our local economy as it will help create thousands of new private-sector jobs and attract visitors and their dollars to Nassau County," said county executive Ed Mangano in a statement.
