GREAT NECK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police are on the hunt for a burglar in a violent home invasion on Long Island.
Nassau County police dusted for fingerprints Wednesday outside an apartment in Great Neck.

Officials said the burglar pretended to be a flower deliveryman when he knocked on the victim's door.
The 34-year-old man inside was shot with a Taser when he opened the door, CBS 2 reported. He was then hit in the head with a glass vase.
Police said the attacker then tied the victim up and broke open a safe.
A neighbor told CBS she may have seen the suspect in the apartment building's lobby.
"The gentleman with the flowers kept walking in the lobby and he opened the door for me and let me out. He seemed very polite, he had a bunch of flowers in his hands and let me out," said neighbor Gretchen Smith.
The victim was treated at the hospital for facial fractures and head trauma.
The suspect got away with cash, diamond jewelry and a passport.
The incident has left many residents on edge.
"It makes me very nervous because I'm single and I certainly won't open my door to anybody," one woman told WCBS 880's Mike Xirinachs. "I just hope that the police find whoever did it quickly."
