Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano unveiled the new scofflaw patrol vans, equipped with license plate readers, last week.
The boot will cost $166 to remove and towing will cost $125.
Many Nassau County residents aren't happy with the new program.
"Too extreme," said Lindenhurst resident. "Three tickets? Come on. There are people out there doing a lot more worse things than parking tickets."
But others are defending it.
"If you look at it right now, you got to be responsible," said one driver. "If you have a ticket, you got to pay."
The movement is part of an effort by the cash-strapped county to recover much-needed revenue. The county estimates it is owed some $49 million in unpaid traffic tickets.
