NASA Reschedules Flight Of Space Shuttle Enterprise To NYC
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Its arrival may have been delayed by bad weather, but officials now say space shuttle Enterprise is set to arrive in New York City on Friday.
The shuttle was originally scheduled to arrive in the Big Apple on Monday, but the Nor'easter that blew through the region over the weekend forced officials to postpone the trip.
On Tuesday, officials announced NASA has tentatively rescheduled Enterprise's flight for Friday morning.
The shuttle will be carried on the back of a 747 from Washington's Dulles Airport. It will fly over New York City before landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
It will then be placed on a tugboat and carried up the Hudson River to its new home aboard the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in June.
