N.J. Mom Cleared In Case Of Cursing At Principal
HACKENSACK, NJ (AP) - A judge has dismissed a disorderly conduct charge against a New Jersey mom who cursed at a principal after her daughter was "pantsed.''
The judge ruled Thursday that state law supersedes local ordinances cited against Cindy Schwalb.
Schwalb cursed at Hasbrouck Heights principal Edward Boclair at a back-to-school night in September 2009. She felt the school wasn't doing enough after a boy had pulled down her 13-year-old daughter's pants.
School officials said they took the unusual step of prosecuting her to show that people can't get away with calling principals vulgar names.
Schwalb told The Record newspaper she's relieved because she wasn't disturbing the peace.
The principal says he doesn't regret pursuing the case.
