Murray Hill High-Rise Fire Leaves 1 Person Injured
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One person was injured early Saturday when a fire broke out in a 14-story building in Murray Hill.
The fire broke out in the early-morning hours in the residential building at 305 Lexington Ave., officials told WCBS 880. The blaze was under control by 4:40 a.m.
One person was taken from the scene to NewYork Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center in an unknown condition.
The fire broke out in a seventh-floor apartment, officials said. The surrounding apartments were evacuated.
The fire remained under investigation as of later Saturday. There was no structural damage to the building observed in the hour afterward, but further evaluation was required, officials said.
