3 Men Shot In Prospect-Lefferts Gardens
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Three men were shot Sunday afternoon in the Prospect-Lefferts Gardens section of Brooklyn.
The shooting happened around 3:25 p.m. Lenox Road between Flatbush and Bedford avenues, just a few blocks from Prospect Park, police said.
A 25-year-old man was shot in the back, a 42-year-old man was suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and a 24-year-old man suffered unknown gunshot wounds, police told 1010 WINS. The youngest man was earlier described as a teenager.
The men were set upon by one gun-toting suspect, police said.
"I heard six – the first initial, and the four, the last – it was like, bang, bang, bang, bang, and that was it – everybody ran," one man said.

All the victims were taken to Kings County Hospital Center. Two of the victims' conditions were reported as stable, while one -- the 42-year-old man -- was in critical condition.
The news of the shooting was unsettling to residents, WCBS 880's Jim Smith reported.
"It's not even summer, and it's already just chaos, chaos," a woman said.

Officers responding to the scene were fired upon, but did not return fire, police told 1010 WINS.
As 1010 WINS' Gene Michaels reported, the fact that officers did not returned fire earned them praise from community activist Tony Herbert, who spoke at the scene.
"I'd say I want to commend the Police Department, because they exercised great restraint without firing back. That means it minimized anybody else being hit. So again, they need to be commended," Herbert said. "We ridicule them when they go out and shoot their guns off. Today, they were professional and did their job."
Hours after the shooting, police had guns drawn and ballistic shields out as they broke down the front door of a boarded-up home on Bedford Avenue and rushed in with a K9 unit dog.
Police also searched two buildings on Caton Avenue, but the suspect was not located in any of them, 1010 WINS' Michaels reported.
