MTA Unveils Second Avenue Subway Information Center On Upper East Side
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - As construction continues on the Second Avenue Subway line, a new hub will allow curious Upper East Side residents to keep tabs on the project.
The Second Avenue Subway Community Information Center will open to the public at 84th Street and Second Avenue on Friday.
It'll offer up-to-date information on the construction and feature interactive exhibits. The center will also let residents get a feel for the coming subway line.

"To actually see how you get there from here and I think that people will be very impressed with this exhibition and I encourage them to come take a look," City Councilman Dan Garodnick told WCBS 880's Ginny Kosola. "We want people to start picturing their lives when it is done and this demonstration allows them to do just that."
At the ribbon-cutting on Thursday, MTA President of Capital Construction Michael Horodniceanu announced the blasting will end by year's end.
"When you demolish stuff it's noisy, when you put in tiles, it's not," he said. "These are the people that we're inconveniencing above ground and they ought to see what we're doing below ground so they understand that we're not just playing around here."
The first phase of the Second Avenue Subway line is slated to open in late 2016.
