MTA: Person Struck, Killed By Empty Train In New Hyde Park
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Long Island Rail Road service is back to normal after it was suspended Friday on several lines when a man was struck and killed on the tracks in New Hyde Park.
Service was restored between Jamaica and Hicksville on the Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma and Oyster Bay branches just before 1:30 p.m.
Around noon, service was suspended when a man was struck by an empty train, the MTA said. LIRR officials said the man wasn't authorized to be on the tracks.
No other information was available.
