MTA Explores Closing Several G Train Subway Stops
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- In 2009, the MTA added five stops to the G subway line, from Fourth to Church Avenues, but those stops are now at risk of closure.
"And now, what are they talking about possibly eliminating? One of their few success stories? Mashugana! " said Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.
"Which if you're not from Brooklyn, means 'crazy'," State Senator Daniel Squadron said. "I guess the problem is the G is working too well."

Business owners along the stops are concerned that the closures would cut into their bottom lines, including Eugenie Woo, who owns a coffee shop on Greenwood Avenue.
"There's a growing number of people who are coming out to us from other areas in Brooklyn that aren't on the F line," she told WCBS 880's Alex Silverman. "I think that anyone's, any business' concerned here."
The MTA hasn't finalized the decision to cut back, however, saying it's studying the situation.
In response, Public Advocate Bill de Blasio set up a web campaign so straphangers can send a message to the MTA.
"You can look it up, 5 Stop Fan Club.com," he said.
