MTA Announces Scheduling Plans On Metro-North Branches Ahead Of Work Week
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Service will return to most Metro-North branches on Monday. All Main Line-Trains will continue normal operations and other lines will begin a modified schedule, the MTA announced on Sunday.
The Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven Lines will operate with regularly scheduled service on Monday, including the Wassaic Branch on the Harlem Line and the Waterbury and Danbury Branches on the New Haven Line.
Trains on the Port Jervis Line will run on a modified schedule, the Port Jervis Line services 2,300 customers daily, service will not be available into Hoboken due to severe damage caused by Sandy, according to NJ Transit.
Bus service will also be available to supplement modified train schedules; the Newburgh-Beacon Bus from the park and ride on Route 17k will be in service and will honor Metro-North monthly and weekly Port Jervis and Pascack Valley Line tickets.
Metro-North monthly and weekly passes from the Port Jervis Line will be cross honored on the Hudson Line and Metro-North tickets will be good from the Tarrytown station and stations south of there.
Transport of Rockland will also be beefing up service on the Tappan Zee Express bus between the Palisades Mall and the Tarrytown train station where connections will be available to Hudson Line trains. Metro-North Pascack Valley monthly and Weekly tickets will be honored on TZX service.
Metro-North will also resume regularly scheduled train service on Wassaic Branch at the Northern tip of the Harlem Line, and on the Waterbury and Danbury branches in Connecticut which carry five-hundred and eleven-hundred customers respectively each day.
The New Canaan Branch will be served by buses to Stamford where train connections will be available.
