Mother Plans Funeral For Myls Dobson; Caretaker Indicted
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - One week after 4-year-old Myls Dobson was found dead and beaten while under the care of his jailed father's girlfriend, the little boy's body has been claimed from the morgue. Meanwhile, the woman taking care of the boy when he died has reportedly been indicted.
As WCBS 880's Irene Cornell reported, the boy's mother Ashlee Dobson was allowed to claim his body. She lost custody of the baby in 2011 when she moved into a homeless shelter, Cornell reported.
Dobson, 29, is now making funeral arrangements to bury her son.

Guardianship had been awarded to the boy's father Okee Wade, 37, who is currently in jail in New Jersey.
The custody order expired with the boy's death, Cornell reported.
Wade had left Dobson in the care of his girlfriend Kryzie King when he was arrested on Dec. 19.
Over the ensuing three weeks, King admitted to beating, torturing, starving, burning and freezing the little boy.
King was arrested last week and charged with first-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment. A grand jury voted to indict her Wednesday, but because the indictment is still sealed, it's unknown what the charges against King are, reports said.
King had been scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, but that appearance was postponed.
Myls Dobson was found unconscious in the bathtub of King's apartment at the Ritz Plaza building on West 48th Street last Wednesday.
The medical examiner's office has not yet determined a cause of death.
As a result of Dobson's death, two New York State lawmakers have proposed "Myls' Law," which would require police to notify a child services agency when they arrest a parent.
Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced an investigation into how Myls' death could have been prevented at the city level.
The city's Administration for Children's Services has come under fire following Myls' case, as well as revelations in the death of a child in Brooklyn back in June.
As CBS 2's Jessica Schneider reported, the medical examiner has now ruled the death of 3-year-old Tianna Mills a homicide.
Mills was found unconscious and not breathing insider her Bushwick home. For months, her death was believed to be accidental.
The medical examiner, however, said her death was a result of a combination of malnutrition, hypothermia and dehydration, Schneider reported.
ACS removed the toddler from her mother's care three years ago and gave her father and grandfather custody. Now, Tianna's father and grandfather may face murder charges.
ACS said it is still investigating both deaths and would not comment any further.
