Police: 2 Teens Wanted For Questioning In Morningside Heights Robberies
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have released surveillance images of two teens who they say are wanted for questioning in connection with a half-dozen robberies in Upper Manhattan.
Since March, there have been six robberies in the Morningside Heights area, the most recent back on May 2. In each case, police said the suspects approach their victim and steal their purse, wallet or phone.
Residents were surprised. Stan Nevins has lived Morningside Drive since 1973, WCBS 880's Marla Diamond reports.
"In those days it was pretty rough here," Nevins said. "But it's gotten progressively better. And people look out for each other and we feel very safe. And I'm surprised to hear about this. Disappointed, but still surprised."

In one incident, police said they punched a woman in the head as she was sitting on a bench on Morningside Drive and took off with her phone.
In the latest incident, police said they placed a man in a chokehold in Morningside Park and stole his phone and bag.
The victims ages range between 22 and 35 years old. Four of them have been men, two were women. Police said none of them had to be transported to the hospital.
