Power Returns To Rockville Centre, Long Island After Earlier Outage
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - A large power outage left much of Rockville Centre in the dark for part of the day Monday.
The outage took place at around 11 a.m.
Approximately 10,000-15,000 people were impacted by the outage.
Rockville Centre has its own power grid. A power feeder cable burned out, causing the outage.
As of about 3:00 p.m., most power had been restored.
Authorities told the Associated Press that several people were rescued from elevators. Traffic lights were also impacted.
