MINEOLA, NY (CBSNewYork / AP) - Nassau County's new community policing centers will have up to ten officers assigned to them, instead of the two originally proposed.

They'll include supervisors, detectives, and both desk and response officers.
Currently, about 50 officers work in precincts but many are on patrol during their shifts.
The police union and county administration reached agreement on the changes, which were in response to concerns regarding county executive Ed Mangano's plan to reduce Nassau's eight precincts to four, with the remainder becoming community policing centers.
Mangano says the controversial precinct reorganization plan will save $20 million annually.
The two sides also agreed on a police retirement incentive plan that encourages high paid cops to call it quits.
