More Limited Service Returns To NJ TRANSIT Lines As Post-Sandy Repairs Continue
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- NJ TRANSIT is operating more trains on a limited schedule as it recovers from Superstorm Sandy.
Limited service has been restored on the Montclair-Boonton Line into Penn Station in New York City and to Hoboken.

The agency said eastbound trains will operate once an hour until noon. In the afternoon, limited service will operate to New York only. After 1 p.m., westbound service will run every 60 to 90 minutes.
Midtown Direct service has resumed on the Morristown Line with trains operating between Dover and Summit into New York. Morristown trains are not running to Hoboken.

There's also limited service on the Bergen and Pascack Valley Line.
NJ TRANSIT spokesman John Durso Jr. said work is still being done on the North Jersey Coastline, but said progress is being made.
"The one major artery that is left is the North Jersey Coastline," he said. "We have crews out there still working around the clock and we are hopeful that we will have news on that in the coming days."
Meanwhile, Amtrak said Tuesday that repairs on the Kearny substation should be done by Friday. The substation suffered heavy flood damage and has restricted the number of trains NJ Transit can run into New York.
