Mobster Pleads Guilty To Massive International Drug Trafficking Ring
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A guilty plea in Brooklyn federal court sheds light on a major narcotics syndicate that knew no boundaries.
Alessandro Tallone of the Rizzuto organized crime family based in Montreal is one of ten members of that branch of La Cosa Nostra charged with trafficking over $1 billion worth of marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy into the U.S., WCBS 880's Irene Cornell reported.
The distributors included New York's Bonanno crime family, the Hell's Angels, Native American co-conspirators from the Akwesasne tribe on the Canadian border and the powerful Sinaloa Mexican cartel.

Federal agents seized $1 million cash and 49 kilos of cocaine in searches of Tallone's Mercedes-Benz sedan and his stash house in Beverly Hills, Cornell reported.
The DEA's Brian Crowell noted that this crime syndicate operated across both borders of the U.S., but that no borders will keep law enforcement from bringing them to justice.
