"I've tried to keep people aware that he's still not home and we need him home," she told WCBS 880's Peter Haskell. "It's hard, but at the same time, it needs to be done because we haven't got Bob home yet."
That's why she's getting the award.
Bob Levinson was working as a private investigator when he traveled to Kish Island off the coast.
"What we need most is the Iranian government to do what they've promised to do, which is help us find answers," Christine said.
Their 25-year-old son David remains hopeful.
"And I strongly believe with all my heart in knowing my dad is a persevering and determined man, that he is alive," he said, adding that feels this whole thing has been a nightmare.
He was 19 when his father disappeared.
"I just remembered having his guidance and, all of a sudden, losing that," he said.
Christine said she does believe her husband is still alive.
